Update!

Hey all, this will be a fairly quick update just to touch base.

I’ve continued working to streamline assembly. I’ve also been able to further reduce part counts.

Some bits:

  • The internal layout and design of the head unit has been improved significantly. The renders shared below are from the smaller footprint unit, but all of the benefits show up in the full size unit as well.

  • The new mech mount is great! There is a quick video below showing the mag strength. The mech mount slides into the primary dividing wall. In the pics/vids, only the part that is screwed in is the mount. It’s completely self contained, and is installed as a single unit. The surrounding part is just a small stand-in for the full size dividing wall so I could test the fit.

  • There is now zero exposed wiring, hardware or PCBs in the brewing section.

  • Head unit assembly time is expected to be 20-30 minutes vs the 3-4 hours of the previous version.

  • I’m currently working on fabricating the full head unit but still a few weeks away before I’ll be ready to share it.

  • There is a new requirement for an updated PCB for the spout stepper connection. Same circuit, just needs a smaller footprint. Will likely hit this in a week or two.

  • Public DECAF testing will likely not start until the first or second week of October. Thanks to everyone who reached out to help! I will ping everyone with more details then.

  • I will have an update out next weekend to go over the changes in more detail as I’m on a time crunch tonight.

Thanks all, will see everyone again next weekend. Cheers!
