Update
Hey folks, hope all is well out there! Things have been going quite well this week and I’m still focusing on the enclosure work. Over the course of this project there were a million times I said “we can do that later” and later is now. I’m working through everything as it pops up and my goal is to not have to touch any of these items again.
Today I’ve been handling mounts:
Enclosure side mech tray mount: This is what connects the mech tray to the enclosure. The strain gauges bridge the two parts. This update is focused on making it more rigid. I have also made it a single part. It was previously two individual mounts and they were annoying to position correctly as it gets a bit crowded where these parts interface with each other. This new version has been pushed to the design repo but should still be considered a work in progress. I’m also adding a cover to protect and hide the delicate strain gauge wires, which is the task I’m working on at this moment.
Updated pump mount: Since changing pump types, we need a new mount. This is pretty straightforward work, with a couple iterations previously completed. Currently printing some footprint tests with the expectation this will be wrapped momentarily.
My primary Mugsy unit is currently completely disassembled while finishing these parts. The head unit assembly requires the cone mech tray to be attached as the first step, or things get wonky very fast.
As mentioned a couple of updates ago, I’m working with another dev to get some help finishing things. I would love for folks to start getting involved with the code base but as noted previously, it’s not necessarily easy to just jump in blind. If you are interested in getting started but don’t know how to begin, feel free to reach out and I can start looping you in to calls and conversations.
Ok that is all for today. Think I may have an update out before end of the week, but if not, it will be no later than the weekend.
Cheers!
