Next Steps
Hey folks, hope all is well. I am off from the day job until next week and will be hunkering down and working through a bunch of Mugsy tasks. Here is the plan for this week:
PCB: First I will be hitting the PCB. I mentioned this previously, specifically the need to update the layout so that the input and output ports are positioned in a way that do not conflict with each other. I also want to consolidate everything to a single board and I never added a connector for the front panel rotary encoder.
Routes: Once the PCB is handled I can finalize the signal routing layout. I will also be adding back in the main’s power socket and routing to the main DC supply so I don’t need to wire everything up manually for each test or demo.
Calibration: The scale calibration utility sucks. It’s all done over a websocket with no hints on what format the answers should be in. This will be updated to use a simple frontend without the need to know the formatting or units. I will also set up a default path using the cone mech unit as the known weight. This way you won’t need to figure out of some random object’s weight to complete the calibration.
End to End Flow Testing: Still need to run a full test of the flow control functionality as I’ve been testing all this individually.
flow rate
overflow protection for both the cone and the mug
final pour weight matches target recipe weight
Flow Parameters: Recipes do not currently handle flow params. Need to add the processor and the ability to update them to the recipe builder UI.
Full Path Brew Demo: From recipe creation to complete brew, all in one shot instead of individually like we’ve been doing until now.
Shipping: It’s been such a long time and I want to get this all moving ASAP. I’m hoping for 3-ish months. Once the above tasks are completed I will have a better idea on what’s left, or what thing’s I’ve missed.
I may have some quick updates as I complete each item, but if not, will have an update with all of the completed items. Should be this weekend but adding a day or two buffer just in case.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy new year and I will see everyone soon!
