Week in Review

I have spent most of this week on site at the Nike flagship store for an installation. It's definitely been one of those random weeks where the day job comes roaring back to life and little else gets done. I will be onsite again today/tonight but that should be the last of it, minus any random fixes that may come up over the next 8 weeks while it is open to the public.

Because of the install, the Mugsy todo list has seen little action. Here is where we are at right now:

• I have not had a chance to update our shipping worksheet for US or International shipments as discussed in the last update. This will be done no later than tomorrow.

• I set aside a big chunk of time this week to record a complete demo video, from loading water and beans all the way to cleaning the machine after a brew cycle. I was hoping to finish this up today but it's looking pretty unlikely at this point. I will jump back on this tomorrow AM and hopefully push it out in tomorrows update or on Sunday.

• I've continued working on the OS release when I had a little downtime at the job site. One of the major things I hit was the coffee/water loading interface. The initial set up was a bit wonky and I have streamlined the entire process. You can now load new coffee by scanning, selecting same as last, using the coffee DB or entering the info manually. And all from the same screen this time... Here is a screenshot:

One of the main things I've been working to improve with the interface is making sure text, cards and buttons are super easy to see and manipulate on Mugsy's touch screen. This loading screen is a great example of how that philosophy has impacted Mugsy's interface design. I'm going to update the coloring on the green buttons so we have a higher contrast ratio as it definitely looks a bit washed out to me.

Ok, that is all for today. Next update on shipping will be tomorrow. This will include the EU customs/vat info and the worksheet update.
